An Honour Song was written for Golden Hills School Division and the Ik ka nutsi Program at Carseland School.
Breathing Life into this type of Programming...
Spike Eagle Speaker Junior from the Siksika Nation explains the importance of an Honour Song. This song breathes life into programs and validates their importance. This song solidifies the program and acts as a reminder for everyone to bring their personal best to everything that they do. Spike speaks to the importance of language and programming that reinforces language and culture.
The honour song assembly was held at the Carseland School on January 16th, 2020 and Elder Clarence Wolfleg played an essential role in the transfer of the song. We are incredibly grateful for this amazing gift. Receiving this song was a very powerful experience.
